The “Magic” of Tongues 2

As I mused over the words “the magic of tongues” with the Holy Spirit, He began sharing new things with me. And everything He shares always leads into the depth of His love. He began sharing scriptures with me that I had never seen in the light of “magic” before. Neither have I ever associated the word magic with God before! But the Lord, being such an enchanter, was having fun messing with my religious brain! 😊

As I watched these flames of fire they would move in and out of each other. The most fascinating thing of all is that they SANG. As they sang and danced together, they created new languages. Their new language was releasing greater and greater joy from the Throne. At the same time, a power or energy was increasing in the heart of the Father and I knew it would not be long before He would release it, and someone was going to receive “power from on high.”

Look at what Jesus told His disciples just before He went to the cross.

Luke 24:49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.

One of the definitions of the word “clothed” is to express or enhance something by suitably significant language. He was going to clothe them in “magic” – a power that allows people to do impossible things by saying special words or performing special actions.

This “magical” power is the divine gift that the Father promised to give to of all Jesus’ disciples. This includes you!

After Jesus’ resurrection from the dead He appeared to His disciples and again spoke to them about the promise of the Father that was coming. He also told them what would happen once they had received The PROMISE – THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Once they received The PROMISE, they would have the power and ability that He had in the Holy Spirit to speak and bring heaven to earth.

Their language and actions were about to change …
