Bright Light!

Have you ever received a revelation from the Lord that causes your spirit to soar and excitement to fill your soul? I had one of those yesterday.

While praying for our nation in a prayer meeting the Holy Spirit caused the following passage to light up in my soul.

Matthew 5:15  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

There is a lot of turmoil and trouble in our land and a spirit of fear is creeping through. There is no denying that we are in a war and we need to fight. It is a war between light and dark and light always wins, unless it is put under a bowl! When a light is covered by a bowl it is blocked and its power quenched.

Jesus warns us that it is possible to be the light of the world and have that light covered by an external source making it ineffective. Jesus is using a metaphor to illustrate a truth. We know He is not referring to a physical candle being covered by a bowl that blocks it and puts it out. So, where is our light and where or what is the bowl that can be set over us to make us ineffective?

It is in our minds, our conscious imagination. In our imaginations, our thought or vision centre, we see all sorts of things. Here we see both good and evil, light and dark, life and death. As we were praying we were focusing on the “evil” that is stalking our land. We were praying for the Lord to intervene, which is how we let our light shine.

As we were doing this I saw what looked like a large black bowl like shape come and settle over us. This bowl was made up of all the negative and fearful things that we focus on. These thoughts and fears come and settle over our light, which is our knowledge of the truth that is in Jesus and put our light out. The Lord showed me that He has His warriors in position in our nation, and that if we pray in faith, focused on those who are calling for justice, peace, reconciliation and that which is right and fair towards all South Africans, we will see it established.

To keep our light shining we need to stand against the negative news and evil events that are happening in faith AND LOVE. We need to release forgiveness and mercy towards those who have been taken captive by the enemy. We need to resist the thought of evil and enforce the thoughts of righteousness, health, prosperity, and well being for our nation. We need to constantly voice our prophetic promises and speak into the darkness. In this way our light will shine and overcome the plans of the enemy for destruction. If we do not, he will cover us with fear and terror. We will give voice to his plans and our light will go out.

God has promised us, the church in South Africa, that we would see revival in this land. If you are looking, then you will see that there is a shift towards righteousness happening all over the earth. This is because the church is taking back the land through prayer, love and forgiveness. And I declare that we are doing the same in our nation.

Let’s be strong and wage a good warfare. Let’s hold onto our faith, focus on our heavenly promises, resist the voice of the enemy and win this nation for Jesus, establishing heaven on earth in South Africa.

The same principle holds true for anything you are facing in your life. Do not let thoughts of fear and unbelief dominate you. Rise up and dominate those thoughts that cause you to fear and act in unbelief. As you do you will overcome every trial and circumstance.

Arise and shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

Have a bright day!

Whispering Enemies!

I woke up this morning to a conversation taking place between myself and the Lord. Really strange but wonderful to wake up to heavenly conversation within you. That’s when you realise there is more to you than just your body! And it’s Saturday so this blog is longer than usual.

  1. So true a friend recently woke up with Isa 60:1 Arise shine fir your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. Which confirms what you are saying. I love praying scripture and when you spoke of those taken captive 2Tim 2:25-26 came to mind “….if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth , and that they may come to rheir senses, and escape the snare of the devil, having being taken captive by him to do his will.,”
