Design & Destiny
How do you find out what you are designed and destined for? Why are you here? What is your purpose? We all arrive on the planet and after some time we exit. Why? Even Jesus came and left. Where do we come from, why are we here, and where are we going? Age old questions but clearly defined answers are found in Scripture.
You are unique, and God sent you here with a plan and a purpose that was, and is, designed specifically for you. It has nothing to do with worldly fame, fortune, or status. It has everything to do with your eternal future and your heavenly rewards or status. Only you can fulfil the plan that God has specifically designed for you. It is a plan that comes with great blessing and prosperity with an eternal hope and future. God’s plan for you was been written in His book BEFORE you were ever conceived!
You saw who you created me to be before I became ME! Before I’d ever seen the light of day, the number of days you planned for me were already recorded in your book. Every single moment You are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that You cherish me constantly in Your every thought! O God, Your desires towards me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, you’re still thinking of me! (Psalm 139:16-17 TPT)
The greatest and most primary part of this design and plan is becoming a new creation – a child of God.
The most fundamental truth that Jesus taught was that of being born again. Jesus told Nicodemus that if he did not understand this he would never enter into the realm of heaven, nor understand the things of heaven. The same holds true for you and me. (John 3)
Telling an old grey headed man that he must be born again if he wants to enter heaven must have been the strangest thing he had ever heard. He responded (as we all would have) with great confusion, wondering how on earth anyone could re-enter their mother’s womb to be born! What if your mom had already died?!
Jesus clarified it for him. There are two births that are necessary. The first is your birth into this world through your mother’s womb. There is no access or point of entry to heaven unless you come into this world as a human being. Within the human body God has placed the “womb” that is able to give birth to a child of God. At birth a baby is about 78% water and the greatest part of our physical makeup is water. Jesus said you must be born of water, first, and then of the Spirit, second.
As human beings we have all fulfilled step one. But how do we get “born of the Spirit?” Trying to explain how God creates and gives birth to a spiritual son or daughter is a mystery that He has not revealed to us. However, just as you need a sperm and an egg to unite for a child to be born into this world, so you need faith and confession to unite to bring forth a child of God, one born of heaven, born of the Spirit.
It is also a very specific belief (faith) and confession that are required. In the core of your being you need to believe, be fully convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that Jesus is who He says He is AND THAT HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD and IS ALIVE forevermore. If you do not believe that Jesus rose from the dead and openly confess that you believe this before men, your confession will remain empty and no spiritual birth will take place.
The beauty that cannot be explained is that when people hear the message of God’s salvation and desire to know Him that God imparts a faith to them that causes them to believe. Somehow, you get to “see” that Jesus is alive and there is a connection to Him that happens on the inside. Then, from this place of encounter (with or without feeling), a confession arises and finds it way out into the world though your mouth. At this point, salvation, or the birth of a son or daughter happens. And once you are His, you are always His! He will not allow anyone or anything to take you out of His hand! (John 10:28)
And what is God’s “living message”? It is the revelation of faith for salvation, which is the message that we preach. For if you believe with your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and publicly confess with your mouth that He is Lord, you will be saved. The heart that believes in Him receives the gift of the righteousness of God – and then the mouth gives thanks to salvation. (Romans 10:9-10 TPT)
If you are not sure that you are born of God and destined for an eternal life with Him in heaven, please re-read this blog and think about it. Question yourself and determine whether you believe. If you are not sure, it’s as simple as making a decision to believe and to ask God for your salvation. Talk to Him about it – He is far more excited about recreating you than you are. He will not leave until the job is done!
Have a glorious day in Him! 😊
