Faithful and True
Part 3
In this world there are so many lies and things which cannot be trusted. Therefore, it is important to know that Jesus is faithful and true to His word. Knowing the Lord as the only Truth will give you peace and greatly strengthen your relationship with Him.
What’s going on?
One thing about Jesus being the only source of truth is that He knows what is really going on in this world. He is the One who can differentiate between a lie and the truth. Have you ever been in a situation where you wondered whether something someone has said to you is true or not? This state of wandering robs you of your peace and your trust towards that person. It is the same in this world. Similarly, there are so many conflicting articles, movies, books, philosophes, and ideas that it becomes difficult to know what is true.
Look at what Jesus said about the devil.
For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.
John 8:44
Full of lies!
It is of little wonder that the world is so full of lies and putting our faith in what the world says leads to hopelessness and despair. Jesus’, in declaring that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life gives you hope and confidence in an evil world. Thankfully, His word will never fail so it is wise for you to know what He says.
Knowing Jesus as the One who is Faithful and True means knowing that His WORD is faithful and true. This world is a world of words and as a result spiritual warfare becomes a war of WORDS. This means that everything in your life revolves around the words you have heard and accepted as the truth. The power of life and death God has put in your mouth. Therefore, knowing Jesus as the only One whose words are faithful and true helps you to choose life instead of death.
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences.
Proverbs 18:21
It’s the truth!
The Lord desires for you to have a blessed and abundant life and He has given His words to you to help you.
And here is the key: – You get to know what is true by studying that which is true and not that which is false. When they teach someone how to recognize true money from fake money, they let them handle real money until they are so familiar with the real it is easy to spot the fake. It is the same in your walk with the Lord. The more you know His voice the easier it is to discern the lies.
Love wins!
God is love. He is and always will be patient and kind towards you. He has no desire to control you, belittle or humiliate you, nor to distance Himself from you. His love does not demand that you do things His way and He does not get irritated with you when you fail. The Lord never keeps a record of your sins, faults, and failures. Your heavenly Father picks you up and cares for you when you stumble and fall. He is not spitefully happy when you are suffering injustice because of a failure, and He rejoices when you succeed.
Because God loves you He will never give up on you and will never lose faith in you. He believes in you. He has faith in you and always has an expectation that you will endure through every situation.
And His WORD to you will always be faithful and true.
