Growing Older!

My Hubby is one year older today, so I thought I would write about getting older. Over the last few days I have been thinking about growing old and whether life gets easier and trials get less. It’s amazing what you think about when you travel a long road and you are alone in your thoughts.

I wondered if life gets easier as you age but it does not. I thought elderly people and how many of them seem to suffer more as they get older and not less. The more I thought about it the more I realized that trials and tribulations never cease. As I pondered these thoughts the Lord spoke in His wonderful soft and encouraging voice.

“Everything in the world, regardless of age or status, has to do with eternity. Every test and trial carries within it the seed of eternal reward or loss and the opportunity to store up treasure in heaven is yours right up to the moment you pass from this world to the next.”

As you follow Christ the joy of wisdom should increase as well as visions of eternity. It is our vision of Christ and the hope of the resurrection that is the joy set before us, regardless of our age or the trials we go through.

I heard of an elderly lady, just turned 80, that walks the streets every day looking of someone to help her with her next meal. Frail and full of cancer, yet always clean and lipstick on her lips. She loves the Lord and is always grateful. I cannot imagine what that kind of trial would be like, but the Lord softly said, “I know the plans I have for her and her reward with Me will be great!”

Every step of our journey through this world is walked with and observed by the kingdom of heaven. Every thought of Jesus, every praise and declaration of love, is noted and treasured, and receives its reward. Your angels never leave you, they watch over you in amazement of the glory of the Most High God within you and the strength you have in staying faithful to the end.

As you walk with the Lord everything you go through, good and bad, is working in you a great eternal reward. Seek the Lord and learn His ways. You do not know the eternal rewards the actions and responses of your heart are working for you. In everything give thanks and love the Lord with all you have. This will make you an overcomer and bring you great honor in the Kingdom of your Father.

2 Corinthians 4:17 We view our slight, short-lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison. And we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen, for what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal. (TPT)

Keep smiling 😊
