Have you ever heard the expression, “They have fire in their eyes!?”
To have fire in your eyes means that your passion and desire for someone is so intense that it shows in your eyes. Your soul becomes consumed with thoughts concerning that person that your whole being feels like it’s on fire with love and passion.
This is how intense the Lord’s love is for you. He has more thoughts consuming His mind where you are concerned that they vastly outnumber the grains of sand on the seashore. That’s pretty intense and all His thoughts are good, and kind, and compassionate. He is on fire for you. You are the apple of His eye and the passion of His soul.
One thing we really need to get to grips with is that GOD IS NOT ANGRY WITH HUMANITY. He came down from heaven to earth so that He could reveal to humanity the untold everlasting love and compassion that God has for us. Neither did GOD send Jesus to the cross and crucify Him. It was the intense sin of violence, rage and anger of humanity against God that brought about an act so violent. Humanity took all their hate and fury out on Jesus Christ and He willingly took that abuse and died for us so that He could forgive ALL and have mercy on ALL.
How great is His love for you? Can you imagine it? If you can then you need to know that there is more. You will never come to the end of searching His great love for you. Knowing, through intimate experience, this love of His that flows towards you is the very key to overcoming every beast, dragon or false prophet. These are the principalities and powers, rulers and authorities, in the heavenly realms and worldly systems of this age. Money, politics and religion!
And did you know that the word “Antichrist” is never mentioned or found in the Book of Revelation! Check it out, it’s not there. Makes you wonder why there is so much talk about an Antichrist in association with the Book of Revelation.
Back to the fiery eyes of Jesus. Jesus’ eyes are filled with fire because of His PASSION AND LOVE for humanity and all of creation. His eyes are not raging with anger and hate with a desire to destroy humanity in retaliation for all their sin. He died to redeem us all from sin, hell and the grave. He has no desire for anyone to perish and it is very important for us to remember who He is, LOVE, and that He is coming to bring salvation to its completion to those who are waiting for Him.
It is true that there are many who are not interested in the saving grace of Jesus but that does not mean He is against them. He has the same passion for the unbeliever as He does for us. The same passion that is so beautiful and comforting to us is an offense and discomfort to those who resist Him. It is the same fire, just experienced differently by different people.
What is important is that YOU know Him as your Saviour, Redeemer, Lover and Friend. He is with you, He is for you, and He will not allow the evil one to have the last say about you. He will always protect you and bring you safely into His heavenly kingdom. In the meantime, though, He has given you the power of His blood, His Word and His Spirit so that you can bring the kingdom of Satan to naught and establish the eternal righteous kingdom of heaven here on earth.
What a privilege to know that His fiery passion will burn up everything that is not of value in His kingdom; that He is refining you and bringing you to full maturity as a believer so that you can be a partaker with Him in His victory over death – which is the end of the Book.
