There is something fascinating about the ocean’s waves. They keep rising and falling as they roll onto the beach. And they never stop and the more you listen to them the more you discover their song.
As I watched a surfer I noticed how he would swim out, look for a wave and ride that wave to the shore. He never got angry or frustrated because the wave came to and end. He just picked up his board and swam out again looking for the next wave. He never rode every wave, just the ones he chose.
And so it is with life. Like waves, seasons come and go, good and bad times come and go. Nothing stays the same. There is a constant rhythm and momentum and if you tune your ear you can hear the unique sounds of life and the song it sings to the Lord.
The art of “surfing” this life is all about learning how to catch a wave and to enjoy the ride. Don’t get upset when things don’t go right or your “wave” comes to an end. There is always another one coming in. There is always a new opportunity, a new venture, a new experience.
Life has many twists and turns, ups and downs. God never designed it to be stagnant or monotonous. It is about experiencing new things, learning new things, investigating something you’ve never thought of before. It’s about being courageous and daring. Looking for the next wave, maybe one that is bigger than you’ve tried before.
Don’t be afraid of the ups and downs of your life. When you are up, ride with all the fervour and joy that you have, and when your wave crashes on the beach pick up your board and do it again! You can achieve all you want in this life. It is your life, your ocean and your waves. Surf it, have fun, be optimistic and expect great and wonderful things.
Have a blessed day 😊
