Pergamum 19

Once you become heavenly minded, you can start doing damage to the world held captive under the influence of the devil. The destruction of Satan’s kingdom begins in your own heart first and then collectively as the Church.

Remember, your first and highest call is your intimacy with the Father and Jesus. It is the highest call and greatest position in the kingdom of God. Before you do any works for God make sure that your inner world, your heart, loves Him. Unless you have a firm, loving relationship with Him you will fail the tests that come against you and miss your rewards. Your strength to overcome this world will come out of the joy that floods your soul from being in His presence.

The first enemy that Jesus exposes to the saints in Pergamum He called “the teachings of Balaam.” Balaam was not a person who lived in Pergamum. He lived many years prior to this but he released a teaching that would forever bring destruction to the children of God. Please note, it is not the spirit of Balaam that is a problem to the Lord (no devil is) but its teaching – its voice and what it declares. Balaam’s teaching directly opposes those of Jesus Christ. When Jesus says that He will drive His sword deep into your heart He is not going after you as His child but after the teachings of Balaam which have taken up residence in your mind and heart.

Jesus said that the enemy appears as a wolf in sheep’s clothing, meaning he takes on the appearance of the saints – he masks himself in your own skin making you think you are looking at and hearing your own thoughts. This is called deception and it is this deception that the Jesus goes after with His sword. It pierces you because you now find yourself in a position of conflict in which you must make decisive decisions. And coming to terms with the Lord’s thoughts and ways can be tough, but once you choose to surrender to Him and you have allowed His sword (His teachings or doctrines) to separate you from those of Balaam, and the other enemies He reveals in Revelation, that you will find yourself delivered, free, and righteous.

How does Jesus use His sword in your life when you are under an attack of the enemy? First, He teaches you that you are forgiven on account of His name, or on account of what He has done and declared. Through the cross, His death and resurrection, He forgave you and cleansed you from all sin. Knowing you are forgiven, and that God is not holding you accountable for any sin comes first. Any thought patterns that hold you captive to sin by feeling guilty, condemned, and separated from God must come down first.

You will NEVER defeat Satan until the truth of eternal forgiveness is firmly set up within your own thoughts and emotions concerning YOU!

Forgiveness of sin is the foundation to your relationship with your Father. Nothing pleases your heavenly Father more than when you know that He has forgiven you and that you are His beloved child. He has removed your sin from Him as far as the east is from the west and remembers them no more. It is from the foundation of eternal forgiveness that He deals with you in everything. Everything is about separating you from the knowledge of sin. The knowledge of sin is the power of death. This is Balaam’s teaching – to get you to sin against God and enter into a covenant with death.

Unforgiveness is a doctrine set up by Satan to snare and entrap you. But Jesus came to set you free from this snare. This snare is in your own mind, in the way you think, feel, and believe. The sword of the Lord is the light of the knowledge of forgiveness that pierces deep into the darkness of your thoughts to bring you out into the freedom of His forgiveness – forever and always!

Once He has brought you into the knowledge and freedom of His forgiveness, He takes you up into His council (army) and begins teaching you how to use your own sword. It is the sword of forgiveness that breaks the power of the teachings of Satan which bring sin and death. And once you know how to use the sword of forgiveness you enter the fullness of a mature son or daughter of God and begin manifesting His glory.

Every child needs to grow up and as a child of God so do you. This position of maturity comes through time and practice. First it is the Lord using forgiveness towards you, then you towards yourself, and finally you towards humanity and all creation.

When you understand the power of forgiveness you hold the universe in your hand.

There is a lot to the doctrine of forgiveness that I cannot share in one short blog, but I hope that the message emerges in your soul as you continue to read the blogs and follow the Lord.

Rev 1:6 … To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood.

Acts 13:30 Let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man (Jesus Christ) is preached to you the forgiveness of sins;

Acts 26:18 … to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they might receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace …

Colossians 1:13-14 For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

In His love, 💞

Yvonne
