Pergamum 20

It is important to note that not all the saints in Pergamum were guilty of holding to the teachings of Balaam. This is true in the hole body of Christ. The question you need to ask is whether you hold to any of his teachings.

Always remember the Lord loves you and wants you free from the strongholds of the devil in your life.

Balaam was a prophet hired by a king to curse the children of Israel. But no matter how he tried to do so he could not. There is a Scripture that says the curse cannot come unless there is a cause and the same holds true for you. No curse can land upon you if you are walking in the presence of the Lord and your mind is set on righteousness and your heart with joy. But that is not going to stop the devil from trying. He walks around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

Simply put, no matter how Satan tries there are people he just cannot devour. And I believe you are one of them! 😊

So, when can Satan devour you? It is a horrible thought to think that he can do so, therefore, it would be wise for you to find out when and how he is able to do so. This is Jesus’ aim in His letter. He is warning them about how Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Also, bear in mind that Jesus is talking about things that take place in the invisible realm of the soul. Sin is conceived in the heart first, long before it is manifest in some sinful action. Satan seeks dominion over your soul – the way you think and feel – so that he can destroy your kingdom and your priesthood as a child of God!

Jesus’ journey with you is – know My name, know your enemy and overcome him, enter into the rewards of the kingdom.

The warnings Jesus gives are always for your freedom, not for your condemnation. He is working to change the way you think so that you can come up higher than your enemy and defeat him from above. The rewards “up here” are incredibly wonderful!

If you overcome the teachings of Balaam Jesus promises to give you His hidden manna (secrets of the kingdom that are not manifest openly on earth) and a white stone with your new name on it. Your name has huge eternal plans and purposes associated with it, and you do not want to lose these rewards because of earthly foolishness.

Balaam could not curse the children of Israel because they were walking in their relationship with the Lord and following His ways. When you choose to love the Lord with all your heart, and soul, and mind, and strength, there is little Satan or any person acting under his influence can do to curse you. Balaam wanted to draw them into war, but God would not let him. Satan cannot draw you into war when the Lord says, “NO!”

PS: You love the Lord with all your heart and soul when you wrap your thoughts and imagination into and around His thoughts and ways. You entangle yourself mentally and emotionally with Him by allowing His thoughts of love to wash over you and you reciprocate with thoughts of love towards Him. This is called a face to face conversation that is never ending. This is first love! This is your greatest weapon and your greatest defense!

When Balaam found that he could not curse the Israelite’s he went to the king with a far more subtle and deadly strategy, and this is the same strategy he uses on the saints today. He is a liar and the father of lies and he is very skilled and crafty in how he uses them to deceive and manipulate you (and humanity).

There are two teachings he introduces that seem harmless but are filled with deadly poison. These are idolatry and sexual immorality. The world screams these doctrines out over all media platforms, in religious gatherings, political opinions, financial status, and fame. In the next few blogs you may get “triggered” but that is okay. If you do it’s because the sword of the Lord has begun to pierce the thinking processes of your heart to separate you from the snare and deception of the devil.

Remember, if Satan can get you to agree with his teachings then he is able to come in to steal, kill, and destroy you and all that you have and love – especially your eternal inheritance.

Happy weekend! 😁🎉🎊
