Pray Until … Part 4!
When you don’t know how to pray about something and a situation is tearing you apart, or you need wisdom concerning a decision, etc., what do you do?
Jesus knew this would be our situation – MOST OF THE TIME! For the most part we don’t have enough knowledge or words to effectively present our needs or the needs of others before God. What do you say, and do you have the right words? How do you know what God’s will is when He lives in heaven and you are here on earth? (Actually, He lives within you and so does heaven).
He also knows we are often snared by time and need help NOW! In His great love He made the most wonderful provision for us. Because everything in this life and universe is governed by WORDS He sent the MASTER OF WORDS, the Holy Spirit, as His most precious gift to us.
Jesus, when telling the disciples that He needed to go, otherwise the Holy Spirit could not come, knew that He had to leave. According to Jesus it was far more important for the Holy Spirit to come than it was for Him to be on earth. Not even Jesus did anything without the Holy Spirit. Just consider how important the Holy Spirit is.
He is so important that Jesus said all kinds of sin and blasphemies against Him, and the Father, would be forgiven, but blasphemy against the HOLY SPIRIT would never be forgiven. If God considers the Holy Spirit so important, then it would be wise for us to do the same.
When the Holy Spirit came to earth, on the day of Pentecost, He sat on, or covered all of them, in fire and they began to SPEAK IN OTHER TONGUES. The MASTER OF WORDS had moved from heaven into the hearts of God’s children. Now, if they would let Him, He could direct the course of their lives and help them in every situation because He knows the mind of God concerning everything!
The Holy Spirit IS GOD, and as God, He knows all about you. He knows His plans for you. He knows His eternal plan for you! He will never leave you nor forsake you – anytime you need Him to be there for you all you need to do is open your mouth and willingly choose to speak in tongues. He will give you the words. You don’t have to think about them, He does it for you.
God, the One who made the heavens and the earth through the power of His Word, now lives in you and is willing to SPEAK on your behalf before, and to, the universe. Just imagine what would happen if we believed in the wonder of the Holy Spirit like Jesus did. What kind of signs and wonders would happen in, and through, our lives!
