Run with Passion!
You are God’s delight, don’t ever forget it! 😊
You know the command to love the Lord with all your heart and soul and strength? How well are you keeping it? Not doing to good? No worries, this is the one command we all need to be working on all the time!
Then there’s the one that says to love your fellow believer’s, even the unlovely ones! How are you doing with that one? Needs some work maybe? No worries, this is the other command we all need to be working on all the time!
But how do we do this? Let’s forget about the second command for now. How do we love the Lord with all we have? What does loving God look like? What does it feel like? How do you know if you’re doing it right? Where do you start and how do you keep going?
The first action of love that you can show the Father is to believe in His Son. When your heart is fixed and firmly rooted in the belief that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He is the ONLY way to the Father, which is through His death and resurrection, you are demonstrating love for God. It is also not a once off action, it is an ongoing daily delight in the knowledge that Jesus is the only WAY and that He rose from the dead. Yes, it means having to forsake the beliefs and opinions of the world and those in it who contradict this truth. If this truth is firmly established in your own heart and mind, you are demonstrating your love for God.
The second is to rejoice, that is to be blissfully happy, cheerful and excited, that your name has been written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. The fact that you have ETERNAL LIFE in Him and will never go to hell, and neither will the second death have any hold on you, should make you seriously passionate about God. When you demonstrate thanks for your salvation with gladness and exuberant praise to God in prayer, in worship, in church or in the presence of others, you are demonstrating your love for God.
Life in this world will present you with many opportunities to complain. When you find yourself in such circumstances and you make the choice to be exceptionally happy because you have eternal life, you are loving God with all your heart, and soul, and strength. Being heavenly minded like this takes some determination and practice, but it comes with rewards that are far beyond your ability to comprehend. These are the treasures that God stores up in heaven for those who love Him.
Learning to live a cheerful life without complaining or division with others is a demonstration of love towards God! (Philippians 3 – 4)
To run with passion into His abundance so that you can reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called you to fulfill and wants you to discover, is another way to demonstrate your love for Him. This means you will have to depend upon Him for HIS strength to accomplish this, as you will not be able to do this in your own strength, ability or reasoning. It means disciplining your thoughts to forsake thinking about the past and to intently focus the thoughts of your heart on the future. This focus has to do with your eternal future and not just your life on earth.
God has put before you a divine invitation to reach for the heavenly goal and gaining the eternal rewards that are yours through the anointing of Jesus Christ upon your life. Jesus reveals these rewards in the book of Revelation chapters 1-3. When your life is gripped by these desires you will fulfill the commandment to love the Lord with all your heart, and soul, and strength.
Your passionate joy and love for God will spill over into loving your neighbours simply because loving the Lord is the SOLE PURPOSE OF YOUR LIFE!
So, I encourage you to learn of the Lord and find out all you can about His HEAVENLY KINGDOM and your HEAVENLY CALL. In so doing you will fulfill the royal law of love!
Love always! ❤
