Sardis 11

Today we are going to chat a little about the wonderful angelic being before the throne of God called the spirit of the Fear of the Lord.

He is a wonderful and majestic being, as are they all, gentle and full of love but also very resolute in how he deals with you and teaches you. In His letter to the church in Thyatira Jesus makes a marvellous statement in favour of those who overcome the teachings of Jezebel. To the overcomers He gives authority over the nations to rule them with an iron sceptre. (Read the blogs) This iron sceptre is a metaphor for the resolute and immovable laws of the kingdom of heaven.

The spirit of the Fear of the Lord will teach you how to approach the things of heaven and the Lord with reverence and respect. Sadly, reverence and respect for the things of the Lord have come under great attack through the spirit of disrespect and irreverence to the laws of God. Once such law is the command to honour parents and respect authority. When we lose this, we lose our battles. Period.

(PS: If you are struggling with an area of sin, poverty, or sickness in your life you may want to go and check your attitude towards your parents, teachers, and those in authority.)

There is one thing you need to know about the Father and that is that He does not get swayed by human philosophies and ideas. While the world is moving away from discipline our Father is not. Now more than ever we are going to need the fear of the Lord if we are going to bring heaven to earth. And bringing heaven to earth is a major part of your assignment here on earth.

Grace is not the gospel of anything goes, grace is the power of the gospel that teaches us to say “NO!” to ungodliness.

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this present age (Tit 2:11-12)

The spirit of the Fear of the Lord will teach you the grace of God in all its fulness. He brings you into a place and position before the Lord so that you can interact with the Lord in true righteousness, holiness, respect, honour, intimacy, reverence, and worship. God is holy and calls you to be holy. He is righteous and calls you to be righteous.

The word fear means to have a profound reverence and awe, especially before God. But fear is also a strong emotion caused by the anticipation or awareness of danger. To have a genuine fear of the Lord involves your whole being, spirit, soul, and body. This means that the fear of the Lord is a strong feeling of awe and reverence which should cause you to fear sin and love righteousness. When you still have a love relationship with sin and the things of this world then a healthy dose of the fear of the Lord should become your desire, and this fear will, and should, cause you to tremble in your heart and soul before the Lord.

This is a good thing, because without the fear of the Lord you will not be invited to sit with Him upon His throne. When you live a life in the consciousness of awe and reverence towards God, the fear of the Lord you will raise you up to heights you have yet to dream of.

My prayer tis that the Lord would grant us all a powerful encounter with the Fear of the Lord!

Grace and peace to you 😊

Yvonne
