Sardis 13

Over the weekend I began to look at the wonder of these seven stars that Jesus holds firmly in His hand. He mentions them in His letter to Ephesus and Sardis, so I think knowing who they are, what their purpose is and how they function with the Church is important.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, I had no revelation of them at all until the Lord put me on this adventure with His wonderful letters to His people. I have spent much time asking the Lord to reveal these angels but as I said before all this is new to me. Just having the revelation that they are there and that they are in the throne room is so awesome. I firmly believe that the Lord is going to reveal them in a much greater level to His church as we hasten the day of His appearing.

Before I go any further, I do not believe that these beings are pastors or some human messenger. Throughout John’s writings he uses the word “angelos” when he is referring to angels. When he refers to the elders of the church, he uses the word “presbuteros.” Angels are heavenly beings that minister to and for the saints. I believe these are a particular rank or class of angels that administer the revelation of Jesus Christ to His Church.

When I asked the Lord what their function was, He showed them to me as hovering over the candlesticks. The candlesticks, or menorah’s, represent the Church of Jesus Christ and His involvement with His people – He walks among us. To me these angels oversee and administrate the will of the Lord concerning His church. You are a part of His church and play a very important function in bringing His kingdom to earth.

I felt that the Lord said these angels reveal and administer the revelation of HIS NAME.

Jesus begins every one of His letters with a revelation about Himself. The Book of Revelation opens with the revelation of His name – Jesus Christ. As He instructs John to write these letters, He begins revealing His name. This is the example the Lord gave me so I will share it here.

My name is Yvonne van Wyk. But just knowing the name by which I am identified tells you nothing about me. However, here are seven facts about me:

  1. I am a child of God
  2. I am a wife
  3. I am a mother
  4. I am a businesswoman
  5. I am a blogger
  6. I have blonde hair and blue/green eyes
  7. I am a mentor

This gives you more of an idea about who I am, but it is only as you spend time in my presence that you will really get to know me. God knows me as His child and who I am in His kingdom and knows more about me than I know about myself. My husband knows me more intimately than anyone else. My children know me as their mother, and my staff as their “boss” and mentor. You know me as a blogger, and some know me by sight. Everyone in my life knows something about me and could tell you things about me, but only those who are close to me really know me.

The Lord has done the same here. In His letters He reveals HIMSELF first because His first desire is that you know Him as intimately as a husband knows His wife. His whole letter to Ephesus is to tell her (you) that He desires this deep “first-love” relationship with her. And so He does with every letter. He draws His beloved deeper and deeper into His arms as He reveals more and more of Himself to her.

It is the Lord’s express desire that you come to know Him better than you know anyone or anything else in your life. You are His beloved and the whole Book of Revelation is His love story and relationship with you. He is preparing you to rule and reign with Him on His Father’s throne. The height to which He wants to elevate you is beyond imagination.

These seven angels have been entrusted to teach and train you for your eternal purpose in Him. My prayer is that you will become conscious of the wonders that the Lord has set around you and the incredible measures that He has taken to be with you.

May the Lord to reveal His wonderful mysteries to you. 💫

Yvonne

I think the seven stars that the Lord holds in His hands hold the key to the different aspects to the power in His name, His nature, and His love for the saints. They also work closely with the seven spirits as Jesus mentions them together in His letter to Sardis.

I learned something very interesting about angels over the weekend. Angels and demons are spiritual beings which differ from humans because they do not have physical bodies which we experience as humans.
