God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding is endless and the more you gain His understanding, knowledge, and wisdom the more you are going to need His counsel. As you learn about the seven spirits before the throne the greater your experience in the infinite omniscience of God becomes.

As you grow you will see how they all function together and you will have need of everything they have been assigned to teach you. But, in all this wisdom, understanding, and knowledge you will find the need for the Spirit of Counsel. (PS: Remember we are dealing with heavenly, eternal things, not earthly temporal things.)

The Spirit of Counsel will help you through giving you advice on which knowledge, wisdom, and understanding that you have gained to use in any given circumstance. The Spirit of counsel works with you via consultation. He will not tell you what to do but consult with you, in other words, teach you how to reason with the Lord and come to a conclusion regarding what action to take.

“Please come and let us reason together,” implores the Lord. Even though your sins are like scarlet, they’ll be white as snow. Though they are like crimson, they will be like wool. (Is 1:18 ISV)

The Lord takes great delight when you can reason together with Him. Reasoning with Him is very different to reasoning with people on earth. Notice how the Lord wants to reason (make you think) with Him regarding your sin. On earth we are very sin conscious and always fretting over our “sinful state or behaviour,” however, heaven He sees you as a sinless and righteousness child of the Father.

… May grace and peace be yours from the one who is, who was, and who is coming, from the seven spirits who are in front of His throne, and from Jesus the Messiah, the witness, the faithful one, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth (you, the saints). To the one who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood and has made us a kingdom, priests for his God and Father, be glory and power forever, and ever, Amen! (Rev 1:4-6)

The whole issue between the reality of heaven and the reality of earth centres around the consciousness of sin and death. Satan’s system of accusation constantly condemns you to death because of your sin, and Jesus system of forgiveness through His blood liberates you from this ungodly and unholy system of and death that sits in your own conscience. It is quite a thing to sit and reason with the Lord when you feel guilty because of what you did and He says, “You are forgiven, clean, and I have no record or recollection of your sin.”

The truth is that anyone born of God cannot sin … (1 John 3:9) This is a big subject and learning to rule and reign over sin and death through consciously understanding and experiencing the power of the blood is what the Revelation of Jesus Christ is all about. The entire book is about us (the saints, the most holy ones) coming into the conscious knowledge of who we are as His sons and daughters. All the awful and wonderful things revealed in the Book are about you learning to overcome sin and death and to establish eternal life – the kingdom of heaven – here on earth.

The Father’s assignment to the spirit of Counsel regarding you is to help you learn to use the counsels of heaven and how to administrate the laws, counsels, precepts, commands, etc., of heaven. You are called, as the Father’s child, to grow and mature in the things of heaven so that you can take your place alongside Him in the rulership and governance of the kingdom of righteousness over the affairs of the earth.

The seven spirits before the throne teach and train you in the things of heaven, especially your eternal righteousness and forgiveness through the blood of Jesus. They will teach you how to see the earth through heavens eyes, through the victory of the shed blood of Jesus, His death and resurrection.

You have a very high calling, are extremely precious to the kingdom of heaven, and carry heavens power and authority. Be wise my friend. Be strong and courageous in believing all that He says about you, for greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.
