Are you aware that you are not human? How can you be, especially if you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ! So, if you are not human then what are you?
Firstly, the Bible says you are an alien! The word alien, of course, does not usually paint a very pleasant picture in one’s mind. Usually they are portrayed as demonic and hostile. But that is not who or what we are. An alien is simply someone or something that comes from another place or country. Jesus clearly stated that He is not from here and that He was returning to where He came from. The same is true about you.
As a child of the Father you have been born from above, or from another world, kingdom or domain. God has declared you to be a child of light and a citizen of heaven. You do not belong to this world; you are only passing through. You are from heaven and you are going to return there. Here on earth you have a mission, and that is to bring the knowledge of heaven to earth. You are an ambassador of Christ with a glorious and wonderful assignment.
There are many statements in the Bible that are really “way out there!” One of them is that you are seated with Christ in the heavenly realms. Last time we looked at how God has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. One of these is that you have been given a position of power and authority which is in the same position and place that Jesus is.
We have just come through celebrating the death and resurrection of the Lord. The power and glory of this whole event culminated in your 100% complete forgiveness and purification of sin. Once Jesus had made provision for the purification of your sin, through His blood, He sat down at the right hand of the Father and drew you up, through the heavens, and seated you on His throne with Him. Have you ever stopped to think about this and what it means!
Consider this, God says heaven is within you. This means access to His throne is within you. You are His temple and He lives in you. When Jesus cleansed the heavenly tabernacle, He was cleansing YOU. The day you were born again, or born of God, you became a NEW CREATION! Every sin, iniquity, transgression, etc, was completely removed from your existence and record in heaven. You are born from above and no one born from heaven is a sinner. Anyone born from heaven is as pure and holy as He is.
Now, from a normal worldly point of view this is crazy. As we find ourselves journeying through this world, we encounter all sorts of wrong thinking and wrong actions that cause us to sin. If this is so how can we consider ourselves holy and sinless? You can’t. Unless you are prepared to fully accept what Jesus accomplished through the cross and accept what He has brought forth in you as a NEW CREATION which is in the Father and not this world, you will remain trapped in the thought processes of sin and death.
Ephesians 2:6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.
Jesus said that GOD raised (past tense) you up WITH Him and seated you with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. This is a “mind blowing” thought, but it is the absolute truth as to who you are and where GOD has chosen to put you. To think of yourself as some unworthy little worm, is to reduce the victory of the death and resurrection of Jesus to some small, powerless, religious event through which a few people, if they are lucky, will get saved!
However, this was the most powerful and glorious event that this world has ever encountered and through His death and resurrection multitudes and multitudes of people have been, and still will be, born from above, and you are one of them.
You have been personally chosen by the God of heaven and earth. You are His prized possession and His glory. You are His child destined for glory and honour, not because you do things perfectly here on earth, but because you are an alien, a child of the Most High God, and nothing and no one has the power to change that. Though you may be going through some battles here on earth remember, God your Father is ALWAYS with you, watching over you and bringing you to a victorious end. He is not offended, depressed or morbid because you commit a sin. It is His glory to forgive you and cleanse you and then to continue walking, talking, dancing and having fun with you as He leads you into the knowledge of the righteousness, joy and peace of His kingdom through the Holy Spirit. As you grow in the knowledge of Him sin will have less and less of a hold on you.
After all, you are His delight and the apple of His eye!
Take a moment to close your eyes and to visualize yourself seated with Him in heaven. In heaven you are clean and without any sin or faults. This is who you really are. Now, from there begin to see yourself like that even though you are walking here on earth. As you see yourself as He sees you, He will clean up and heal your mind, your emotions, your body and your life.
