The Cheerful Battle! 3

Have you ever noticed the mysterious statements that Jesus made while He walked on earth and then some of the other strange statements made by the apostles and prophets, both in the Old and the New Testaments?

The Lord shared with me once that the only way to truly understand the Scriptures is to be able to discern, or understand, which dimension or realm the Scripture is dealing with. When we try and understand everything from a natural or earthly position, we often misinterpret what He was trying to reveal and end up with no understanding or revelation, which is frustrating and confusing.

There are four primary areas or dimensions that God deals with in Scripture – the heart, the spirit, the soul and the body. When you understand that God is dealing with either one, two, three or all four at the same time it becomes easier but will also require faith. When you start talking about the mysteries of heaven or places that are not earthly you will find yourself being called a nut case! This is alright. Jesus was not considered as ‘normal’ by the religious leaders of His day either.

But “normal” is so boring! Of all the things in life our journey with the Lord in and through the heavenly realms and on earth should make for the most exciting and wildest life! Unfortunately, most of us only know “boring”. Our God, who made the heavens and the earth with all their majesty and glory, purposed us to be able to have wonderful encounters with Him wherever He is. When we come into the knowledge of the fulness of His marvellous love for us we will become the happiest people on earth and the nations will begin to flock to us so that they too can share in the glory of His Son.

So, if there is more than one place that Jesus refers to then we need to know what we are dealing with and where we are dealing with these things. Your heart is the most central place within you where you and the Lord dwell. This is the connection point between you and God, heaven and earth. It is the secret place where you hear the voice of the Lord and where you process what He has said to you. Here you talk to Him about all your issues and how to deal with them. Here you sit and talk about stuff, heavenly and earthly stuff. Here is where you meet with God and this is a holy place.

Your spirit is who you are and when you are born again you are connected to and have become one entity with the Holy Spirit. This is a union between you and the Holy Spirit, and you are inseparable from Him. Your spirit is holy, righteous, pure and sanctified. Your spirit connects you to the realm of heaven where GOD is. Here there is no darkness, sin, etc., only perfect life, love and light.

Your soul connects you to the mental and emotional realm. This realm is as real as heaven and earth. I believe this realm connects you to the heavenly places that Scripture talks about. It is in this arena that our battle takes place. It is in this realm that WORDS and IMAGINATION bring forth life and death as realities on earth. Here the knowledge of God and the knowledge of good and evil contend for dominance.

Your body connects you to the physical world where we experience all the wonders of creation but also the effects of the kingdom of evil that exerts its will upon mankind which manifest in everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. However, we cannot overcome these forces through natural means and systems. Hence Scripture telling us that our fight is not against flesh and blood, or that which is of this physical world.

Let me leave you with these thoughts as you ponder the wonders and the realities of Jesus and His kingdom and who you are to Him and in Him.

And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and through (separate you form profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God); and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete (and found) blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah).     1 Thessalonians 5:23 (Amp)

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and that your body may be kept well, even as I know your soul keeps well and prospers.    3 John 1:2 (Amp)

May the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, lead you and guide you into everything that is TRUTH in Jesus and give you understanding and peace as you learn of Him.

Have an enchanting weekend! 😊
