Troubled Winds!
Troubled winds and winds of change are howling across our land. Have you heard them? Have you felt them? Smells of fear and uncertainty have arisen, and many hearts and minds are unsettled.
But this is not a time for us, the Church of Jesus Christ, to be fearful or unsettled because of the things happening in our nation. Winds of change must come if we are to see the kingdom of heaven come and His rulership established. As such, you and I are called to be politicians! We are called to be Ambassadors (politicians) of Christ, and to represent His kingdom, His will, and His rulership on earth.
We are called to pray for and to establish His kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. (2 Cor 5:20; Lk 10:11)
How do we do this? How do we establish Christ’s kingdom here on earth? Firstly, we do this through the knowledge of Jesus Christ, who He is, how He thinks and how He operates. And He does NOT think like the world neither does He see things from a natural or worldly perspective. Secondly, it requires US to live by faith, which is to see things from His perspective and to believe that what He says is the truth. He requires us to have faith, which is to see, act and live from the dimension of heaven and not earth.
Jesus is not watching the news media. He is not moved by political rants and rages, neither is He moved by the injustices of those who are corrupt. His kingdom is a mighty kingdom, governed by love and grace and mercy. He is moved by the promises of the Father and the victory He won on the cross. Understand this, from a heavenly perspective, which is an eternal perspective, He is ALREADY the ruler over all the earth.
So why do we have all the corruption, evil, injustice, wars, pain, earthquakes, floods, famines, sickness, disease and death? Why hasn’t He just come back and sorted all this out already? Quite simple, because we, His church, have not yet aligned ourselves with His will so that He can come back. Look at the following Scriptures,
Ephesians 3:10 His intent was that now, through the CHURCH, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realm.
Colossians 1:18-20 And He is the head of the body, THE CHURCH; He is the beginning and the firstborn from the dead, so that in everything, He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fulness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross.
The church, that’s you and me and every other believer in Jesus Christ, have been commissioned and ordained to bring the kingdom of heaven to earth. We are not commissioned to enforce the kingdom of heaven on the unbeliever, but to the principalities and powers in the heavenly realm. Our fight is not against the political leaders of our nation, but against the demonic influences operating behind them. If we want to establish peace on earth, we, the church, need to recognise who our enemy is and where he operates from. Then we need to learn what manner of warfare God uses to bring him down. This requires us to know the manifold wisdom, or many different plans and strategies of God, that He uses to defeat Satan. These plans and strategies are carried out through our words and actions aligning with HIS.
So, what are we supposed to bring from heaven to earth?
Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, joy and peace in the Holy Spirit.
“Not a matter of eating and drinking” simply means it’s not about what we eat or drink, where we live or what we wear. It is not found in the natural or materialistic needs we have, but in the attitude of our hearts. Our inward life needs to be filled with righteousness, peace and joy, which is cultivated through a life of communion with the Holy Spirit. From this position we will have a clear vision of heaven and receive the wisdom we need to establish His reign here on earth.
Does this mean we should all just stay in our closets and pray? No! Our inward life of faith always has an outward action. When the righteous, the church stands by and does nothing, wickedness increases. Righteousness has a voice. Righteousness has an action. You need to use your voice and you need to use your actions. At all times our voice and our actions need to be for the KINGDOM of JESUS CHRIST to come which is always through a firm, confident and relentless faith displayed in gentleness and peace.
Be violent and forceful with your faith in the closet, come out in peace and love.
South Africa is a nation and as such she has been destined for the King of Kings to be her Lord. Therefore, no matter what we suffer in the natural affairs of our lives, we need to remember why we are here, and that is to establish a life of righteousness, peace and joy through our communion with the Holy Spirit. These are the great and powerful weapons we have been given and, as we are faithful in this life of communion with Him, it will bring about the establishment of His kingdom here on earth. The day will come when we will see Him standing on the earth, with our own eyes.
Job 19:25-27 I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end He will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God: I myself will see him with my own eyes – I and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
What a joy and what a hope we carry within us. What a privilege to be one of His ambassadors on earth. What a delight to see people reconciled to Jesus. What a glory to know we are the sons and daughters of God, destined for a glorious resurrection from the dead and an eternal heavenly home.
May the righteousness, joy and peace of the Lord’s kingdom rule and reign in your heart through the wonderful indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit.
PS: I do believe that every believer should vote and exercise their right to let their voice be heard, both in heaven and on earth.
Have a splendid day! ☺
