The Dune
I had this dream last year when facing difficult times and thought I’d share it because it’s a reminder for us all right now in these times we are all facing…
The other night I was half asleep but lying praying about the situation at work, family, and just some things in general and feeling a bit perturbed.
All of a sudden, I had a vision of Father God walking beside me on Nahoon beach. At the bottom of the big sand dune we stopped, and Father God told me to dig a cave at the bottom of the sand dune. I of course said, “But I can’t build a cave here it won’t work”. Father God then told me He wanted me to at least try and start digging. I got down and started digging furiously with my hands but obviously got nowhere because the more I dug in the sand the more sand would come tumbling down from the dune. I eventually looked up and said, “It won’t work.” Father God smiled and then told me to look around me and asked, “What do you see?” I smiled, obviously Abba Father knows how much I love walking on the beach. I said, “People strolling along, some dogs, waves and birds, beautiful blue sky, etc.” Then He asked, “How big are they?” I said, “As big as I am and bigger.”
Then Father God said, “Come climb the dune to the very top.” Having done this quite recently I said, “But it’s difficult!” He said, “Come on, let’s go.” We start climbing and as you’d know it’s quite tiring. About halfway I went down on my hands and knees crawling up slowly. Suddenly Father God said to me sternly, “Leona stand up!” I immediately stood up and there were rods placed in both my hands and Father God said, “Use the rods to climb up to the top, now dig deep, deeper, push hard, harder!” I eventually got up to the top of the dune. Relieved, Father God told me to turn around and asked, “What do you see now Leona?” I then explained the awesome view I had. I could see further out to sea, the surfers, dolphins, people walking, dogs, the sky, waves, what a beautiful sight. I could see the whole beach in just one gaze! Father God then asked me, “How big are they now?” I said, “A whole lot smaller.”
Father God then turned to me and began to explain my dream. He said, “At the bottom of the sand dune when you tried to dig a cave, it’s was futile and tiring, and everything around you looked big and you were wasting your time. That is when you allow the things of this world to crowd your mind and life, they begin to overwhelm.” When we climbed up the dune and it got tough that’s when I need to keep on pushing harder and dig deeper in Him.
He then reminded me of Moses standing on the hill overlooking the battle the Israelite’s were fighting. While he had his arms raised to the heavens, they were winning the battle but when he grew weary and let his arms down, they began losing the battle. His helpers came and brought a rock for him to sit on and held his arms up so they could win the battle and he didn’t grow weary, that’s what the rods depicted. I have in one hand, His word to guide me and Holy Spirit to lead me and then in the other He has brought spiritual brothers and sisters and family to walk beside me to encourage me to dig deeper and to climb higher in Him.
Then at the top of the doon when I turned around, that is when I would see things from His perspective, not my own, that’s when things become smaller and I view and see it differently. Not in my perspective but His. This is found when I spend more and more time in His word and presence. It changes my perspective on things, and we don’t feel overwhelmed by the things of the world and become weary. I’m encouraged to dig deeper and deeper and push through harder, not to give up and to keep looking to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.
2 Corinthians 4:16 Therefore we do not despair, but even if our physical body is wearing away, our inner person is being renewed day by day. For our momentary, light suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what can be seen is eternal.

I hope Leona’s dream encourages you to keep looking towards the Lord and to know that He loves you and is walking with you through every circumstance. No matter what we face in the days ahead our God, the Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit, is right there with us to bring us safely into their heavenly kingdom.
Have a blessed day! 🤗

I was puzzled why I seldom “worry” about things to come except those few times I let my mind wander off to the cares of this world. 😊
